Nicole & friends had a surprise birthday party show by DUZIE . . . the amazing EduTainers this afternoon. Her parents booked us for her special celebration. The party, originally planned for the back porch, took place in the garage with every age of friend and relative.

Our DUZIE amazing EduTainer Show included our amazing rope show, and featuring Nicole, taught 3 different rope knot tricks, tricks that you can do at a grocery store with coins, a story & magic illustration about showing love to your friends, balloon twisting taught to all the kids (Nicole on the right is featured in the photo on the right with her purple dog and friends), rocket puzzles for all the men, ziplock bending for the ladies, a straightjacket illusion, and slydini scarves for the grand finale!

We loved to be able to help Nicole and her family and friends celebrate her special day . . . the DUZIE way!

Dustin & Jennifer Kerrins were married by the magistrate on July 28, 2008. Dustin then went overseas in the army. They had this short break for this weekend to celebrate with the ceremony and reception in Gladwin and Butman, Michigan.

The ceremony was in Jennifer’s parent’s side yard. Dustin in his dress uniform, and Jennifer in a gorgeous white dress. The groomsmen wore brown camouflage vests and ties with white shirts and dark dress pants. The girls wore brown strapless dresses with purple accents. There was a huge rainstorm earlier in the day, which dried up for their 2:00 pm wedding.

The bride and groom came to the reception hall in Butman around 4:00 pm with Dan, Suzie & Josiah Potter as the DJs. Patty Povilunas (the groom’s aunt) was the photographer. There was great celebration, food, fun, and dancing until 11:00 pm when we packed down the equipment. The celebrations continued long after we left.

Dustin & Jennifer headed to South Carolina on the 26th of July. Dustin heads back overseas to Afghanistann in 2 weeks. Our love and prayers go with them both!

Today was the last and final day of our 5 day DUZIE Day Camp. We had 21 kids from 7-15 years old. Today was the grand finale at Kim’s Lake (Barnes Lake near Carsonville, MI) where we went with 4 car loads full. It was a great week of mentoring and impacting the next generation. We really tried to expose them to creativity in multiple ways. With our “Hand Voting” today, all the parts were loved by all. We loved it and plan to do it again next year (of course there will be some parts we change up to make it better for those who attend next year . . . and DUZIE could never do it again twice!).

A special thanks to Josiah Potter for the games, great role model and video/photography groups. Thanks to Don & Sherryl Potter for their woodworking and cooking groups + making sure the lunches were successful. Without you three we couldn’t have done it for the whole week. And a special thanks also to Kim McDowell for her lake and fun stuff today + Kyle Mero for helping man the water groups! Thanks most of all to God for his amazing creativity in people, nature and life and the fine example to us!

Marlette Country Fair Days asked Dan & Suzie Potter . . . aka . . . DUZIE to run a creative interactive space for July 17-18. We pulled together our old “wildfire cafe stand” and tools for the backdrop under our 3 mini tent coverings, staked out an interactive zone in front of it surrounded by flags and festivities. Saturday morning we had a spot in the parade to display some of our creative skills. We were joined by Don & Sherryl Potter, Josiah Potter, Kim McDowell (who sold all the creative products), Dave & Dani Weir, Jake & Stevo Hutchens, Olivia Franzel, our boxer Champ (also in the tye dye shirt) and Oracle (our blue and gold Macaw on Dan’s arm).

We had some VERY full days with a variety of ‘CREATIVE CRASH COURSES” by DUZIE “the amazing EduTainers” including: Scarf and Ball Juggling, Magic, Poi swinging, Stix juggling, Astrojax, Stiltz, and more! it was great to interact with so many people who came to our DUZIE station. What was fun was a guy who come to our station for a juggling creative crash course, to find that he could already juggle quite well. When I asked him where he learned to juggle, he said “from you in your course after school when I was in middle school.” He thanked us for taking the time to teach him! We were also able to hang with and entertain many friends from both past and present.

Marlette had a melodrama play both Saturday and Sunday nights. DUZIE was the preshow entertainment for 30 minutes prior to each show with interactive comedy magic.

We managed to run to Saginaw, MI on Sunday morning to Ascention Lutheran Church for their “Family combined service” and walk around entertainment during their picnic lunch, before heading back to Marlette for the Preshow entertainment for the play again.

It was a totally packed weekend. Both of us had aching feet by Sunday night, and were high in need for sleep. But it was great tiredness, as we were able do what we love to do!

We were hired to do “walk around entertainment” for Stephanie Jackson’s open house. She was the Saludatorian (second highest in her class) for Kingston High School. This Open House was to celebrate with family and friends her accomplishment. We had a great time entertaining at picnic tables, under trees, and out in the grass at the Kingston Park. Congratulations Stephanie! Thanks Jim and Christie for hiring us!
